Friday Finds
A little ongoing series where I roundup some pieces that have caught my eye during the week.
While it may not be summer yet, it is definitely sandal season. One of my favourite styling techniques is pairing a flip flop (or another minimalist sandal) with an outfit that looks fit for basically any other season or occasion. Whether it’s a suit trouser or a leather jacket, I love the juxtaposition that this creates within a look.
If you’re looking for something a little different to a classic flip flop, this leather pair would be perfect.
I’ve always loved boat necks but I am especially enjoying them at the moment, maybe it’s the 90s minimalism and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy of it all, but I keep being drawn to this neckline. I think they create such a chic shape within a basic look and really help to elevate an outfit. This relaxed, flowing silhouette combines with the boat neck and light beige colour to create the perfect top for Spring/Summer 2026.
I saw this bag online and in all honesty I wasn’t wowed by it. I thought the texture was interesting but I wasn’t overly excited. But then I was scrolling on TikTok and saw Devyn Sloane styling it with a really simple look and I was sold. It added so much to the outfit purely through texture, which is something that I love utilising in my styling.
I think that this style of utility-inspired cotton trousers is going to be my go-to this spring. They have such an effortlessly chic, 90s feel to them, which I am really enjoying at the moment. They are realistic, practical trousers that also look amazing, what more could you want?
These suede mules are so interesting to me. They are so unique and I think they would add so much to a simple outfit because they cover three crucial factors in a look all on their own: texture, shape and colour.
Just because we are moving into Spring/Summer doesn’t necessarily mean that cape season has to come to an end. This linen-blend piece is a great transitional option that can carry you through spring and even into cooler summer days and evenings.
While I may have been getting slightly ahead of myself in terms of my anticipation for summer clothes, I am still very much enjoying trench coat season. In the UK April means April showers, so a trench coat is an essential.
This one caught my eye because of its detachable cape detail and funnel neck, which means that you essentially get three looks in one: a standard trench when worn open, a funnel-neck trench when worn done up and a trench with a cape/scarf detail when styled with the attachment.
Back to my slightly more optimistic wishlist, these chic sandals are a bit more of a statement that my trusty flip flops, but I think that sometimes a simple outfit needs that. I’m picturing styling these with a pair of black Bermuda shorts and a 90s-inspired shrunken black T-shirt for an effortlessly chic summer look.
I thought that this woven leather bag was such a great size, you see so many of these bags but the majority of them are pretty big (and I love them as well), but these small pouches are a bit harder to find. While I personally probably wouldn’t wear this as a crossbody like pictured above, I do think this would be a great smaller shoulder bag option.
The slightly sunnier and warmer days that we have had in the UK recently (though they seemed to leave as quickly as they arrived) have clearly reignited my love for silk/satin shorts. But I was so busy focusing on the shorter silk shorts that I loved last summer, that silk Bermuda shorts didn’t even cross my mind. Now that I’ve seen these, I know I have to style some this summer.
I would pair these with an oversized crisp, white cotton shirt and a pair of leather flip flops for the day, or kitten heels for the evening.
P.S. they also come in a really great champagne colour.
I’ve never been a big fan of a white shoe, I tend to find them a bit too stark for me personally, but there is something about this pair that doesn’t make me feel that way. While I haven’t seen them in person, the website describes them as ‘ecru white’, so maybe it is that slight off-white hue that softens the whole look.
I saw online that these are the kick-flare trousers that Hailey Bieber wears, and while that has been public information for a while now, it was news to me. There are a lot of Hailey’s outfits that I love, and one common theme across a fair few of them are these trousers. So, while the rest of the world may already be onto these, I feel like I just found the golden ticket of celebrity outfit inspiration.
One outfit formula that I have been really loving recently is the pairing of a leather jacket, tailored Bermuda shorts and a pair of flip flops. I think it is a really simple, chic look with just the right amount of tension between the pieces; the casualness of the leather jacket and flip flops contrast the formality of the tailored shorts, while the more summery feel of the shorts and flip flops opposes the wintery nature of the leather jacket.
This silk T-shirt is the epitome of an elevated basic. The simple silhouette combines perfectly with the sleek, luxurious material to create this beautiful flowing top that can be dressed up or down.
I also love the styling of this top in the image above, I think the knee-length skirt perfectly compliments the binaries of formality in the T-shirt to create the perfect smart-casual look. Kitten heels would make this outfit ideal for the evening, whereas flats or flip flops would make it more casual for a daytime look.
I have been talking about my love of cargos a lot recently so I won’t bore you all with any more of me singing their praises, but what I will say is that if I didn’t already own a pair very similar to this, I would be buying these.
Jelly sandals have been a real love or hate shoe for the past couple of years, but I think that this pair are far less divisive. The brown shade softens the jelly-look and makes them a little less out-there, but the jelly texture simultaneously lightens the shoe, adding some interest and depth to the shoe through texture and opacity.
Finally, I think I may have left the best until last, this raffia bag is perfect for Spring/Summer. I love the shape, colour, handle and size (which is basically everything there is to love about a bag).
I have been speaking a lot about wanting to style a raffia bag with a trench coat this spring, and I think that this would be the perfect piece to do that with.
